BLUEPRINTING

Blueprinting is the technique used to true up a rifle action and involves removing all the variation inherent with factory actions. Correct blueprinting will turn a Remington 700 factory action into a superior action that will attain benchrest quality groups in the right hands.

Truing the action
Action set up in lathe with centreline indicated at 0.000 runout
Layup blue applied to action receiver prior to first cut

Truing the bolt
Truing the front locking lugs
Truing the rear locking lugs
Truing the boltface

Further work to sleeve the rifle bolt can be undertaken if required.
